Broken Fully Tempered Glass

how to tell if glass is temperedtempered va heat strengthened glass

Tempered Glass Table Top

Tempered Glass Table Top is typically four times stronger than annealed glass and two times as strong as heat-strengthened glass of the same thickness, size and type. In the event that fully tempered glass is broken, it will break into fairly small pieces, reducing the chance for injury. In doing so, the small glass shards make it more likely that the glass will become separated from the opening. The minimum surface compression for fully-tempered glass is 10,000 psi. In addition, it complies with the safety glazing requirements as outlined by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z97.1

Ordering Tempered Glass

Tempered glass must be cut, seamed and or polished first, before tempering. If it was tempered first, we would not be able to cut and polish it to your specification. That's why we've invested in our own state-of-the-art glass fabrication facilities, including large tempering furnaces where we temper your glass after we cut and polish it. This ensures that we can manage the quality control of your glass order, as well as expedite your delivery time.
